Welcome to Cassel & Associates On-line Auction Web Site. We feature State of Ohio Surplus Vehicles and Miscellaneous Equipment.

Basic Layout of the Site
Items on this site are arranged by Department and Category. If you are looking for a particular item you may type it in the search box, otherwise click on the Department that you would like to view and then the category.

Searching
You can also search for items by using our Search feature. Type your search criteria into the box below our logo and click on the magnifying glass. You can then choose from the list of items displayed.

Changing How Lists of Items Display
You can view a list of Items that belong to specific category simply by clicking on that Category in the menu. Whenever a small image of a camera displays beside an item it means that there is a picture of that item available to review. You can also display item pictures by choosing the “Picture Gallery” button on the toggle view line.

Getting Ready To Bid
You can click on the item name or picture to see the bidding history and status for any item. In order to place a bid for an item you must first be logged in to the site. You access the login page by clicking the "My Account / Login" link at the top or bottom of this page or by clicking on the “click here to login” link in the pink text box.

Creating An Account
If this is your first time bidding and you have not yet created an account, click on the “click here to set up an account” link. Complete the form; fields marked with a red star are required fields and must be completed before the account set-up can be processed. Once you submit the form you will be e-mailed an activation code. It is important that the email address that you provide with your account submittal be accurate so that you are sure to receive that activation message as well as any future messages regarding the status of any bids you choose to make. Within a few minutes you will receive an email message with an activation code. Write down your activation code and then click the “click here to activate your account” link embedded in the email message. Type the activation code into the space provided and click “Activate My Account”. If you have entered a valid activation code a message will be displayed indicating that your account has been activated. Now you can log into the site by clicking the "Click here to login into our site" link.

Logging In To Bid
Once you have an account, you can log into the site at any time by clicking the "My Account / Login" link at the top or bottom of the page. When you log in you will be directed to the Account Management page. This is where you can manage your account using the links displayed. On this page you can:
  • Update your Personal Information (name, e-mail address, etc)
  • Change your account password.
  • Add or change billing and shipping addresses for your orders.
  • Add credit card info for your orders. Note this is not a requirement but a feature that makes it faster and more convenient if you plan to make several purchases on our site.
  • View a list of all auction items you have recently won but haven't paid for yet. This is where you will submit payment and shipping information to the seller.
  • Log out of your account.
Bidding
**If you are within 15 minutes of the Auction Item End Time when you place your bid, the end time for the item will automatically be extended for an additional 15 minutes to allow other users a chance to place additional bids. For the item to close it must go 15 minutes without any bids placed on it and then it will close. The closing time may reflect a later time due to the auto-extend.**

You can always access items in the auction by clicking on the “Auction Home” link in the menu bars at the top and bottom of the page. If you are logged into the site and chose an item, you will also see the current bid amount and the minimum amount required to submit a bid for the item. Enter the amount that you wish to bid in the space provided (or accept the minimum amount shown) and click the "Bid Now" button. It is very important to remember that by clicking on Bid Now you are agreeing to purchase this item at the bid amount you have entered.
When you submit your bid and it is accepted, you will see a message displayed indicating that Your Bid was Accepted. The message will also give the amount of your bid and the name of the item. You can click on the “Return to Item” link to return to that item. If you are still the highest bidder you will see a message in the green box stating that you are already the highest bidder for this item.
You cannot outbid yourself. It is good practice to periodically refresh your screen to see if you are still the highest bidder. The bid form will reappear if you refresh your screen and are no longer the highest bidder.
If you are outbid, you will receive an email notification when that occurs at the address you provided when you set up your account.

Paying For An Item You Have Won
Once a bid has expired and you are the winning bidder you will receive an email notification when that occurs at the address you provided when you set up your account. Click on the “My Account / Login” link at the top or bottom of the page and when you get to the Account Management page choose the link to “Items I've Recently Won”. This page will display details about any items that you have won but have not yet paid for. To initiate the payment process click the "Pay Now" button on the right.
If you're a new customer and need to create an address for your account, or if you're a recurring customer who'd just like to add a different address to your account than the ones listed in the drop down lists, please use the Add New Address button near the top of the page. Otherwise, please select your billing and shipping addresses from the drop down lists.
Click “Continue” to move on to the Billing Information.
Choose your method of payment. If you are paying by credit card, please verify the address shown is the same address used for your credit card statement. If not, click the edit billing address link and make the necessary changes to the address.
Please enter the billing credit card information for this order. This form is secure.
Click “Continue” to move on to the Order Summary Screen
Carefully review the information shown. It is also a good idea to print this screen for your records. You will need to verify that all of the information is accurate by checking the checkbox at the bottom of the order summary. This confirms that you have verified your order and would like to proceed with your purchase. Then click “Complete Order”.
